Jazz Stylings of Tony Yezzo

I became a professional Jazz Trumpet Player and Singer when I was 18 and here I am, 83 years old, and still singing and swinging...

I got my first trumpet when I was 13 and I taught myself to play. Two years and some lessons later I was asked to appear on TV on the Paul Whiteman TV show, Town Teens and by the time I was 18, my career was in full swing and I was playing in clubs and hotels in New York City and Upstate New York. But at age 23, the Korean War was happening and I was drafted into the army. At first I thought this would set my music career back but a local politician from the Bronx heard about me and arranged to have me stationed at West Point with the U. S. Military Band. I was there for four years and I received the best possible music education.

Now, I’m singing in clubs and I’m recording. I’m on a jazz journey and I hope you can be there with me...
